Meet our Blog Authors
Mirella serves as the community benefit coordinator for Delta Dental of Colorado but is best known for her role as the Tooth Fairy. She is very knowledgeable about oral health especially, children’s oral health. As a bilingual speaker, she is valuable to get our message of the importance of oral health out to the general public.
She devotes her spare time to her three children doing all sorts of stuff like visiting the Manitou Incline, eating tacos, petting puppies, and volunteer work. Mirella is currently working towards her Bachelors of Science degree in healthcare management at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Helen Drexler currently serves as president and CEO of Delta Dental of Colorado. Prior to this position, Helen served as regional vice president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she worked in a variety of leadership roles for 30 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of New Mexico and certification by Senn Delaney as a cultural transformation facilitator. Helen recently served on the Women’s Leadership Council for United Way of Greater Atlanta. She also served as chair of the board of directors of Florence Crittenton Services.
Heather Horsey is the social media manager for the Delta Dental Social Media Collaborative. She has a strong passion for digital communication and loves social media’s ability to connect people together. Heather earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from the University of Colorado.
With more than 10 years working in digital communication, Heather began marketing on Facebook and Twitter in their infancy. The growth of social communication has been an exciting career path, as the field continues to grow and change.
Heather is a proud mom to a happy little boy, wife and thus West Virginia Mountaineer, and dog-mom to 2 lovable pooches. She enjoys spending time with her family exploring the landscape, hiking, biking and enjoying the company of good friends.
Caroline Jacobson serves as the content strategist for the Delta Dental Social Media Collaborative. Content-crazy and gaga for grammar, Caroline holds her Master of Science in Strategic Communications from the University of Denver. Before joining Delta Dental, she worked as a marketing manager and social media specialist for an Alabama-based firm.
Outside of office hours, Caroline kicks it with three main men in her life: her husband and longhaired dachshunds, Brad and Kyle.
Anna Keefe is the social media coordinator for the Social Media Collaborative. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and is passionate about all things digital, creative and social-oriented.
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Denver, drinking wine on patios and hiking the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
DR. CHERYL LERNER
Dr. Cheryl Lerner recently joined the Delta Dental of Colorado team as vice president of professional services. Drawing on her 30-year experience in clinical dentistry and dental insurance administration, Dr. Lerner leads the company’s provider network initiatives and supports efforts to educate members about the importance of oral health.
Following a 13-year career practicing general dentistry, Dr. Lerner went on to serve as vice president of professional network relations for UnitedHealthcare Dental, directing service initiatives related to the company’s national provider network. She also served as dental director for Delta Dental of Pennsylvania for seven years. Most recently, she helped lead a private dentist network, Maverest Dental Network.
Dr. Lerner has a bachelor of arts degree in biology and a doctor of medicine in dentistry degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed one year of general practice residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Amy Maillet creates communications and design content for Delta Dental of Colorado’s community benefit group and the foundation. She has more than 15 years of experience ranging from trade publishing to brand development. Amy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Arizona.
Outside the office, she practices yoga, climbs Colorado fourteeners, and balances life on a SUP. Most days, she can be found trying to keep up with her husband, two girls and a german short-haired pointer.
