A child crying through the night is a parent’s worst nightmare.
Often the child cannot express what is wrong, what hurts or why they are crying. It can break your heart.
One Colorado mom was faced with just this problem. Her five- year-old daughter was crying through the night, every night. With the help of Dental Aid from the Delta Dental of Colorado (DDCO) Fund, Mom was able to figure out why her daughter was hurting.
The little girl had cavities causing pain in 17 of her 20 teeth. She faced the loss of most of her teeth. Can you imagine going outside with only THREE teeth in your mouth?
Thanks to quick action, she was taken to Children’s Hospital of Colorado for dental surgery and only ended up losing nine teeth. Even better, she’s now dreaming at night instead of crying.
So thankful for the soothing, the mother called Delta Dental her “savior.”
The DDCO Fund brought dental care to someone who needed it. And in doing so, the DDCO Fund created a dental savior for this Colorado family.
In 2011, the Delta Dental of Colorado Board of Trustees approved formation of the Delta Dental of Colorado Fund. The Fund provides dental insurance to income-qualified individuals across Colorado. Since the launch, we’ve managed to enroll more than 6,000 low-income Coloradoans.
So, if your little one seems unhappy and you don’t know what is bothering him, think about their teeth. For more information on how to help you take care of your child’s teeth, go to NoKiddingColorado.com.
