Green is the future! How many times have you heard this phrase announced by your boss, your kids and even your neighbors? The Green Fever has taken the US by storm and there are now more Earth-friendly companies popping up every day.
With the desire to support this change, you may be asking yourself what you can do to help. Why not go green with your routine… your dental care routine that is.
November is the perfect month to start reducing your footprint on the environment. The 15th annual America Recycles Day will held be on the 15th of this month. America Recycles Day was created to educate Americans about recycling and encourage them to continue or start recycling.
Who knew that you had so much opportunity right in your bathroom! And no, I do not mean using the same toothbrush for longer or using less toothpaste. Why not recycle that old toothbrush rather than throwing it out?
There are plenty of ways you can recycle (or reuse) your old toothbrush. If your community offers #5 plastic recycling there are toothbrushes you can purchase that are ok to throw in your recycle bin.
If not, there are many other uses for your old toothbrush. You can use them to help clean items around the house. Have you ever tried to clean jewelry with a toothbrush? GENIUS!
For a fun craft project for you and your kids, old toothbrushes can be made into children’s bracelets by boiling them in water, removing the bristles and shaping them. You can find complete instruction on how to do this here.
If crafts and cleaning aren’t your cup of tea, buy biodegradable toothbrushes. This way you can throw your toothbrush without worrying about it living in a landfill forever. By taking small steps to green your daily routine you can make a difference and help save our beautiful planet!
