Don’t you just love Colorado? There are a lot of things here to smile about — especially during National Smile Week, the second week of August. If you’re hanging around the Centennial State for the remainder of the summer, here are some local festivals sure to make you smile.
Golden Fine Arts Festival
August 16–17
Come browse a variety of beautiful art at the Golden Fine Arts Festival. The festival hosts more than 140 high-quality artists (many of which are Coloradans) in a variety of media, including ceramic arts, fiber arts, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture.
USA Pro Challenge
August 18–24
Because of incredible popularity in its first two years, the USA Pro Challenge returns to Colorado for a third year. Follow the race and festivities as world-class cyclists pass through Aspen, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Monarch, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Denver, and more!
Colorado State Fair
August 22–September 1
Americans love a good state fair, and after 140 years of practice, Colorado’s got it down. So much of what there is to love about the state converges onto the famous fairgrounds in Pueblo for an end-of-summer week full of live entertainment, thrilling competitions, quirky vendor booths, and good ol’ Western fun.
A Taste of Colorado
August 29–September 1
A Taste of Colorado stands proud as the end-of-summer celebration of community pride and spirit in the Denver region. More than 500,000 people make the 4-day festival their Labor Day Weekend celebration, enjoying the offerings of more than 50 area restaurants, 250 marketplace artisans and vendors, seven stages, and educational programs promoting the diverse cultural and Western heritage of the region.
