Celebrity Teeth: Demi Moore Lost her Two Front Teeth
Tooth problems don’t only happen to us common folk. Celebrities and famous stars go through tooth tribulations just like we do! Whether it’s self-inflicted, sugar-induced, or genetics, celebrities aren’t shying away from sharing their dental mishaps!
Did you hear that in 2017 actress Demi Moore lost her two front teeth? She was happy to talk about it on television and told the media that it was due to stress. Though there’s some speculation surrounding her claim, stress does cause teeth-grinding. Stress has big oral health implications. Clenching the jaw is another symptom of stress, and both of these can cause serious wear and tear on your teeth.
Demi tweeted at the time: “Happy to share and always appreciate the opportunity to find humility!!! Or at least be able to laugh at myself!” Moore later told Ellen DeGeneres that she “had a bad bite” and knocked her own tooth out.
If you’re a nighttime grinder like Demi Moore, be sure to visit your dentist to get a custom fitted guard for when you sleep. This will prevent your teeth from clamping down on each other at night and causing decay.
Celebrity Teeth: Tony Hawk Does a New Trick
If you’re a parent, you’re probably no stranger to the risks involved with skateboarding. It’s recommended we wear knee pads, helmets, mouth guards, and elbow pads. But, somebody forgot to tell Tony Hawk to get a mouth guard. While attempting a new trick, Tony managed to knock a tooth out, which he later graciously shared on Instagram.
If you or someone you know is an avid skateboarder or sportsman like Tony Hawk, you should also probably get a mouth guard. Wearing one during physical activity like sports practice or while skateboarding or rollerblading can save a big chunk of change and a perfectly good smile.
Celebrity Teeth: Jim Carey’s Method Acting
When Jim Carey was a boy, his classmate jumped on his head in detention and chipped a tooth. He had it capped, as many do, to make it look like a full tooth once again. When his role in Dumb and Dumber came around, Jim realized his character Lloyd would benefit from his natural tooth-shape so he had his dentist remove the cap.
