The importance of addressing climate change has never been more imperative. Delta Dental of Colorado is guided by its mission to improve the overall health of Coloradans and we understand that reducing our impact on the environment is critical for the health of the planet and the community. This past year, we reaffirmed our commitment to sustainability with the design and construction of a new Colorado headquarters. This new space is a foundation for Delta Dental of Colorado to reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2023. This April, we launched our new sustainability plan. Some of the highlights of our plan include:
- Build upon the investments in our new building which include light-harvesting, water-use reduction, utilizing recycled materials, and prioritizing team member health and safety.
- Working with local partners and innovative software to measure our overall carbon footprint and developing solutions to reduce consumption.
- Launching a green education program and green store where team members can earn points for sustainable behavior that go towards earning sustainable products.
Can being green be good for the bottom line?
More companies than ever are developing plans to address their impact on the environment. Caring about the environment benefits the bottom line, and it is part of the way we do business here in Colorado. There are different ways for organizations to promote sustainable. Establishing company-wide recycling and composting programs are a start. We encourage businesses to take additional steps towards a more sustainable future.
