Strawberry Flax Smoothie
1⁄2 cup frozen strawberries
1⁄4 cup Greek yogurt
1⁄4 cup skim or almond milk
In addition to tooth-strengthening calcium, dairy contains lactic acid. This acid fights decay and acts as a shield to harmful bacteria.
1⁄2 cup fresh spinach
This leafy green contains folate, a B vitamin used to create memory brain cells.
1 teaspoon flax seed
Flaxseed is rich in Omega-3 fatty acid, the most potent anti-inflammatory nutrient. Foods that reduce inflammation may protect against gum disease.
1 tablespoon protein powder
Combine all ingredients with 10, 1-second pulses. Puree until smooth—about 2 minutes.
